After 38 years and over 500,000 dieters, it’s remarkable that every time you turn on the TV or open a magazine or newspaper, someone is talking about Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET and the many weight-loss success stories it has spawned. The news is filled with reports of Hollywood stars, professional athletes, and other celebrity fans who've lost weight on the plan, and even more everyday folks who've reached their goals. Hundreds of physicians throughout North America have used Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET to help their patients achieve a healthful weight, and the brand has become one of the most popular weight-loss plans in Australia.
While knockoff products have come and gone, the real Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET is more popular than ever. Hundreds of media outlets, including Today Tonight, The Wall Street Journal, People magazine, The New York Times, ABC's Good Morning America, NBC's Today Show, and Entertainment Tonight, have profiled Dr. Sanford Siegal and his famous, hunger-controlling cookies. That kind of notoriety doesn't happen overnight.

1975 TO APRIL 2011
Dr. Sanford Siegal created his famous cookies in 1975 to help patients of his Miami, Florida medical practice, Siegal Medical Group, control their hunger and stick to his reduced-calorie diet. To this day, Dr. Siegal mixes every batch of his secret amino acid protein blend with his own hands in his private bakery.
From 1975 to 2002, Dr. Siegal’s foods and weight-loss approach were only available from doctors. From 2002 to 2006, Dr. Siegal allowed a company to open diet center franchises that used his name and weight-loss method, and his cookies and other products. The company opened centers under various names including Siegal Smart for Life Weight Management Centers. The relationship ended in August 2006, at which time Dr. Siegal stopped supplying his products to that company.
In 2007, Dr. Siegal and his son, Matthew Siegal, launched a new company to bring Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET directly to consumers through a web site, CookieDiet.com (over 135,000 members), and retail stores. As CEO, Matt has led the expansion of Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET into an international brand.
By 1975, Dr. Siegal's reputation as a medical expert on the treatment of obesity was well established
In April 2011, Dr. Siegal completed the first significant enhancements to Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET in its 38-year history. He reformulated his cookies, making them all-natural, Kosher, vegetarian, and more affordable. He also reduced the calories in each cookie by 33 percent so that dieters could eat more of them each day, thus shortening the amount of time between snacks and further reducing the occurrence of significant hunger. Dr. Siegal’s new eating plan for Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET is called Dr. Siegal’s Plan 10X.
