Snacks Every Two Hours Plus Dinner
Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET® Weight-Loss System Overview
Created by renowned physician, author, and weight-loss expert Dr. Sanford Siegal, Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET is a proven, three-step plan that has helped more than a half million people lose weight since 1975. It’s a safe, fast, and affordable approach to weight loss and weight maintenance that hundreds of doctors throughout North America have used to help their patients lose weight. And now it's easier, tastier, and more affordable than ever.
Dr. Siegal's time-tested concept is simple: Stick to a diet of 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day, of which about 500 come from Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET hunger-controlling snacks and 500 to 700 from a generous meal. On 1,000 to 1,200 calories, everyone loses weight. There are no failures at that caloric level.
There are two versions of Dr. Siegal's cookies and plan: Classic and Plan 10X.

DR.SIEGAL'S COOKIE DIET® CLASSIC COOKIES AND PLAN
Between 1975 and early 2011, more than 500,000 people used the Classic Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET to lose weight. Then, in April 2011, Dr. Siegal drew on 36 years of experience to improve his popular weight-loss regimen and the hunger-controlling cookies that support it. The result: Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X eating plan for Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET.
While most people will prefer the improved flavor of our new cookies and the reduced time between snacks on Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X, those who prefer the Classic cookies will continue to find them on CookieDiet.com.
What's the Difference Between the Classic and New Cookies and Plans?
The main differences between the Classic cookies and plan and Plan 10X are the cookies themselves and the times at which you eat them. The new cookies are all-natural, Kosher, and vegetarian, and most people find them tastier. They take less time to bake and package so they cost a little less, too.
With the Classic plan and cookies, you eat six, 90-calorie cookies a day, not at fixed times but when hunger strikes. Under Plan 10X, you eat nine, 60-calorie cookies a day, on a fixed schedule of one or two cookies every two hours so that serious hunger doesn't even have a chance to develop.
On the Classic and Plan 10X programs, your one "real" meal a day, your total daily calories, and the distribution of calories between cookies and your main meal are exactly the same. On either the Classic plan or Plan 10X, you can expect to lose about 10 to 15 pounds a month on a daily regimen of 1,000 to 1,200 calories.
Classic vs. New Quick Comparison Chart
Classic or New: How Do I Choose?
First, compare the ingredients and nutritional information between the Classic and new cookies for there are significant differences. Then, consider whether you prefer the idea of eating up to six, 90-calorie cookies a day to control hunger when it strikes or nine, 60-calorie cookies a day, eaten every two hours (whether or not you are hungry), to prevent hunger from ever developing.
Whichever plan you choose, if you consume 1,000 to 1,200
calories a day, you'll lose weight at the same rate.

NEW! DR. SIEGAL'S COOKIE DIET® FEATURING PLAN 10X™
The new Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X eating plan for Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET is a nutritionally-balanced dietary regimen on which the typical adult will lose about 10 to 15 pounds per month on 1,000 to 1,200 daily calories. Based on various factors, you may lose a little faster or slower than the average but, within that calorie range, you are guaranteed to lose weight.
When used as suggested, the distribution of calories from carbohydrates, protein, and fat with Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X conforms to the USDA/HHS Dietary Guidelines for Americans (2010) which recommends consumption of macronutrients in the following proportions for adults 19 and older: Carbohydrates (45% to 65%), Protein (10% to 35%), and Fat (20% to 35%).
What makes Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET unique is that it incorporates a nutritionally-balanced eating plan on which you lose weight safely, quickly, and without hunger.
NEW COOKIES
Dr. Siegal intentionally made his original cookies taste "good, but not too good" because he didn't want you eating the whole bag by noon. With the Classic plan and cookies, each cookie has 90 calories and you are instructed to eat six a day. Dr. Siegal's new cookies, however, have just 60 calories each and, therefore, you eat nine a day. On Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X, you never go more than two hours without a snack so there's little risk of serious hunger. For that reason, Dr. Siegal is no longer concerned that if the cookies tasted too good you’d eat them at unscheduled times. Therefore, he’s made his new cookies taste delicious. They’re available in three, all-natural flavors: Chocolate Brownie, Cinnamon Oatmeal, and Maple Granola.
MAXIMUM HUNGER CONTROL
WIth Plan 10X, Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET is now simpler and easier to follow. Best of all, the maximum wait between eating times has been shortened to just two hours. In fact, between 8am and 10pm, you can enjoy up to nine snacks plus dinner. On that schedule, there's no time for hunger to strike and weaken your resolve.
"My goal with the original Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet, which has
worked very well for hundreds of thousands of people since
1975, was to knock out hunger as it occurred, using relatively
few calories to do it. But now, with Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X, I
don't wait for hunger to occur at all." --- Dr. Sanford Siegal

Three Steps to Success
During the weight-loss phase, with your family doctor’s blessing, you’ll eat nine Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X variety Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET hunger-controlling cookies plus a generous meal. (If desired, one Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET brand shake per day may be used to replace two cookies). It’s recommended that you have your main meal in the evening but you can have it anytime. The cookies will provide about 500 calories and the dinner 500 to 700. That's a total of 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day. At that level there are no failures; everyone loses weight.
Here are the suggested three steps to reaching your goal weight (subject to your doctor's approval):
Step 1: See Your Doctor
Consult your physician before starting this or any diet. Your doctor may have reasons why you shouldn't begin a diet. Once you begin your diet, check in with your doctor as often as he recommends because people who diet under a doctor's supervision have greater success.
Step 2: Order Cookies
Order a Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET Plan 10X 4-Week Starter Kit. Each kit includes a one-month supply of cookies and copies of The Cookie Doctor Cookbook: Countless Combinations of Delicious Meals for Any Calorie-Controlled Lifestyle and Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet Book.
If you wish, you can also order additional Weekly Boxes of cookies, as well as shakes, dietary supplements, and other products.
Step 3: Lose Weight on Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X™ Eating Plan
The following table shows the Dr. Siegal's Plan 10X Default Eating Plan. This timetable will work for most people who have a typical workday schedule. It assumes that you wake up at around 7am, work from 9pm to 5pm or so, have dinner around 8pm, and go to bed around 11pm. It also assumes that you will have your one "real" meal in the evening (but you can adjust the time to suit your lifestyle). Under this plan, you never go more than two hours without eating in order to reduce the opportunity for serious hunger to develop.
